Hello! I'm Jason.
I currently live in San Francisco and work at Industrial Light & Magic. I grew up in Northern Virginia and the Bay Area and previously studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
I'm a systems-focused engineer who really enjoys understanding and building, well, complex systems.
Currently, I'm focusing on platform and infrastructure engineering (both in the cloud and on-prem/bare-metal). I've been programming in Python, Rust, and Go mostly and really enjoy the low-level systems stuff. I use linux professionally and for my home-lab, but love my macbook too.
I really enjoy learning all the nitty-gritty details about whatever I'm working with. I often find myself going down rabbit holes.
Some other areas that I enjoy and have explored previously include:
- computer graphics
- web development across the stack
- MLOps
Outside of the technical stuff, I enjoy:
- running along the Embarcadero or at Golden Gate Park
- surfing at Ocean Beach
- planespotting at SFO
- speaking Italian
- walking around San Francisco
